Hello, I go by the name Jonathan Rose, feel free to call me Johnny (and please refer to me with they/them pronouns). I am a 20 year old film student from Delaware, focusing on cimematography. I love film, especially horror movies or anything strange, and I have a deep love for nature. Other hobbies include drawing, painting, and writing, etcetera etcetera. Add more if I feel like it.
After monumenmtally fumbling my classes in late 2025, I began to read Moby Dick out of stress. I became obsessed with it. I was having a full, Moby Dick-fueled, nautical moment, I was bewitched by the beauty of nature through the power of whale ramblings. I was born anew, I would take my failure in stride, I would grow as a person. People cope with failure in different ways, and I guess my way was to find myself changed and refreshed through this book. I then began to notice that there was an overlap in people who liked Moby Dick and people interested in the history of polar exploration, at least in people who posted about both online. For some reason, my interest was piqued, and I decided I would like to learn more.
